There are two free email lists provided by Nanotechnology Industries, one is a news service without discussion, while the other includes the news with open discussion. The two groups are described with links below.

The Nanotech Group: (news with discussion)
Join 3139 other members of the Nanotech Email list for free. Subscribers receive the Nanogirl News, a free news service summarizing current nanotech related news articles. Members may also hold discussions they feel important for discussion. The formal description of the email group is:
"This mailing list revolves around the emerging science of nanotechnology. Discussions include application, futurism, idea exchange, design, social implications, economic issues, policy and legislation and other relevant group sub-topics. Questions of impact and strategic implications are encouraged as well as exchanges of information." Since 1999.

The Nanogirl News Group: (news without discussion)
Join 553 other members of the Nanogirl News list for free. Subscribers receive the Nanogirl News, a free news service summarizing current nanotech related news articles. Subscribers also receive occasional single news briefs and event postings. This group is not an open discussion list. Since 2000.
